As the school year starts, we want to take a moment to look back and remember some of the great things that happened at the Marion Music Academy this summer! It's been a challenging year for everyone, and it's so helpful to take a moment to enjoy the good things.

1. Hundred Days of Practice Challenge
We had more than thirty students complete 100 days of practice in a row this year, and seven students finished the added 50 day challenge, for 150 days in a row total!

2. Our 2020 House Cup Competition
Most students were taking virtual lessons instead of in-person lessons during the summer, but that didn't stop the House Cup competition! Our young musicians completed worksheets, played composer excerpts, read musical books, and watched live performances, all to push their team to victory!

3. Our First Ever Outdoor Recitals
We wanted to make sure our students got an opportunity to showcase what they learned during the spring & summer, so we hosted a series of outdoor recitals in July! It was so much fun to see everyone come out & listen to some great music!

4. Friends Helping
After the derecho took out the big tree on the west side of the Academy parking lot, a group of students & parents helped clear the lot and move all the tree debris to the curb for the city to pick up. We so appreciated the helping hands!

5. Faculty Excellence
As the coronavirus epidemic continued, our teachers and staff have responded with creativity & flexibility to continue to provide your students with excellent musical education. We're so glad to have the opportunity to work with young musicians, whether virtually or in person!
We hope you've enjoyed this brief look at summer 2020 at the Marion Music Academy. Here's to lots more music this fall!
